Trusting Without Knowing The Outcome
Oct 12, 2021While in Hawaii, my trip began and ended with two powerful meditations. The first I connected with the Wind: her power and her easy-breeziness. It was a gentle reminder to be strong AND flexible.
At the end I connected with Pele, the goddess of volcanoes. The message that came to me was that: power is not a bad thing. Destruction is not a bad thing. Sometimes the old needs to die for the new to be rebuilt. Hmmm, how appropriate at this stage in my life.
What I felt was that LOVE is transformative. The Big Island is expanding due to recent eruptions - we literally stayed on the lava field. I can’t imagine that the former inhabitants were excited that their homes were wiped out.
It’s hard to trust that good will come when we only have the information that is in front of us at that very moment, and that information may be sketchy at best. We want to KNOW the outcome. We want certainty. During that final meditation - I understood. My life as I knew it needed to be transformed. Old needed to die off to make room for a new life - one of growth and expansion. I have no idea what it will look like, but I trust that it will be.
The more I trust, the easier it becomes. It helps that I have a safety net underneath me: my worst case scenarios aren’t actually that bad, more just undesirable outcomes.
